An atypical chandelier from the 1900s in copper, opaline and silk. The design close to the work of Belgian artists like Henry Van de Velde or Victor Horta from the Art Nouveau movement. Composed of hammered copper scrolls, it illuminates its environment with 5 opalines in the upper part and is extended with a pleated silk shade. The composition is very contemporary for its time. It is when the world discovered electricity, and redesigned its new forms around Edison bulbs in 1900.

The Art Nouveau 1900-1920 style is based on the aesthetic of curved and natural lines as a reaction to the industrial era in which it was born. It is also a new and resolutely modern style in the face of incessant repetition of older styles during the 19th century. Distributed at the same time in a large part of the world, it is called Tiffany in the United States, Jugendstil in Germany, Sezessionstil in Austria, Nieuwe Kunst in the Netherlands, Liberty in Italy, Modernismo in Spain, Sapin in Switzerland and Modern in Russia. The greatest artists in terms of Lighting are Guimard, Tiffany, Mazzucotelli…
