The Baccarat glassworks was established in 1764 in Lorraine. Flawless crystal and the art of cut crystal became synony- mous with the brand. Technological know-how utilizing multi-layered, or overlay engraved crystal, and opaline glass are equally a specialty of Baccarat. This crystal glassworks has remained one of the iconic French luxury companies since its creation. A “Baccarat” is identifiable by its finely faceted crystal and the propensity for large scale. This chandelier with many arms of candle- lights, decorated with a delicate lace ornament, gilded glass bells and prisms, gives its imposing structure an amazing lightness.
