Inspired by a model by Karl Friedrich Schinkel neoclassical German from the beginning of the 19th century original chandelier in postdam in iron and lead wood but this one in bronze. The original chandelier, in giltwood and composite-material chandelier, the exact formula of which remains a mystery, is by Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781 - 1841). It is composed of three-tiered crowns decorated with freizes and crystal drops. Architect, decorator and painter, Schinkel worked almost exclusively for the Royal Prussian family from 1810 to his death. In the 1810s and1820s, he represented one of the essential forces behind the transformation of Berlin into the showcase capital of Prussia. His work is dominated by neoclassicism and later by neo- Gothic romanticism. First and foremost, Schinkel was an innovator of materials and building techniques. While remaining quite traditional with its tiered crown framework, one of the components of the chandelier is a mixed resin, proof of Schinkel’s innovation in the field of material technology.
