Inspired by lamps of Middle-Ages and the Renaissance, this French wrought iron chandelier with four arms of light is articulated with scrolls from the main supported. Two dragons back to back escape from foliage scrolls and acanthus leaves. This prodigious French work from the late 19th century guides us into the amazing world of grotesques. The fantastic decorations of chimerical animals developed symmetrically around arabesques and floral ornaments experience an undeniable success century after century, style after style, throughout the history of art. True craftsmanship; this dragon chandelier fits without context into the Gothic Revival movement of the last century.
