Gilded bronze chandelier with cascades of pearls, attributed to Eugène Soleau This spectacular gilded bronze chandelier bears witness to an ornamental refinement typical of the second half of the 19th century. This richly-decorated chandelier features expressive masks inspired by the Opéra Comique, a world that was dear to the artist, who created numerous lighting fixtures for this institution. Cascades of crystal pearls gush from their open mouths, evoking fountains of frozen light. These suspended, glittering crystal elements diffuse a soft light, contributing to the theatrical, precious atmosphere of the whole.

D’une grande richesse décorative, il se distingue par ses masques expressifs, inspirés de l’Opéra Comique, un univers cher à l’artiste, qui réalisa de nombreux luminaires pour cette institution. Des cascades de perles de cristal jaillissent de leurs bouches ouvertes, évoquant des fontaines de lumière figée.
