Very beautiful hanging incense burner, this small bronze lantern with Japanese decorations and brown patina is surrounded by fish and its walls seem adorned with a tree. It can also be used as a table lamp. Second half of the 19th century.

Très joli brûle parfum suspendu, cette petite lanterne en bronze aux décors japonisants et patine brune est entouré de poissons et ses parois semblent parées d'un arbre. Elle peut également être posée, au choix de son utilisateur. Deuxième moitié du XIXème siècle.

Au XIXe siècle le lustre s’impose comme la pièce d’exception, l’élément incontournable des pièces importantes. Le XIXe siècle va revisiter les styles des siècles précédents, néo Louis XIV ou Louis XV, Néo gothique ou néo-antique, les inspirations et références historiques sont claires, et les ajouts contemporains visibles, plus grand nombre de bras de lumière - les bougies deviennent moins onéreuses dans l’ère industrielle - plus de cristaux et de formes differentes - les verriers et cristaliers ont fait de grand progrès techniques. A la fin du XIXe siècle, les bougies sont remplacées par l'éclairage au gaz puis par l’électricité à l’approche du XXe siècle.
