France, beginning of the 20th century A rare hammered wrought iron chandelier, patinated with four suspended arms of light terminated with a American tulip glass shades. The whole is crowned by a winged dragon encircling the central shaft. This chandelier created by Maroello & Guaita, from Lyon, is a perfectly mastered example of the wrought iron technique. The rigidity of the metal used becomes more flexible with its naturalistic rosebud decoration which ornament the three arms of light embellished with American stained glass. The whole is crowned with a fantastic dragon with outstretched wings whose the tail wraps around the central shaft. Although made of a simple material, this chandelier from the early 20th century has the finesse of a work in bronze.
