The Haute Epoque refers to furniture and works of art dating from the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the 17th century. It can be Gothic, Romanesque, Byzantine, Baroque, Arabic as well… It therefore encompasses everything relating to the Middle Ages, according to the imagination of the latter specific to the nineteenth century, a period when the term "Haute Epoque" was invented. Chandeliers from this period often have religious and natural references.

Il peut être aussi bien gothique, roman, byzantin, baroque, arabe… Il englobe donc tout ce qui a trait au Moyen Âge, selon l'imaginaire de celui-ci propre notamment au xixe siècle, période où le terme "Haute époque" fut inventé.
