Chandelier in the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. Silver bronze. Reissue of Mathieu Lustrerie workshops. The Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles is a symbol of luxury and opulence known all over the world. After three years of restoration, this masterpiece, designed by architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart and painter Charles Le Brun in honour of Louis XIV, has been restored to its original splendour. Mathieu Lustrerie is currently working to preserve its national heritage and international reputation by restoring the monument's chandeliers. In collaboration with the Palace of Versailles, Mathieu Lustrerie offers you the royal chandelier from the Hall of Mirrors, modelled on the originals and recreated by our craftsmen. Each chandelier proudly bears the royal stamp, a sign of its authenticity and unparalleled quality: Mathieu Lustrerie is the official re-editor of the Royal Collection of the Palace of Versailles. You can therefore now possess a piece of the palace's history and prestige in your own home. The chandelier, commonly known as the 'cage', originated with Louis XIV and has been used throughout the ages, particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries, although the most emblematic examples are associated with the Louis XV style. Its name derives from the simplicity of its structure, which takes the form of a cage, empty inside, giving these lights a slick and contemporary aesthetic.

Before Lead crystal was discovered, the glass was mixed with Manganese, Tungstene or other materials. These materials used to give a smoky, violet or yellow tint to the glass. Our 18th Century Crystal recreates this effect, making it perfect for pieces that need to look antique or fit in a collection.
